Clothing exports rebound in August!China's textile and garment exports have increased for five consecutive months

China's General Administration of Customs released the national trade data of goods from January to August 2020 on September 7.From January to August, the total value of the import and export of goods was 20 trillion yuan, decreasing by 0.6% compared with the same period last year (the same below), among which the export was 11 trillion yuan, up by 0.8%, and the import was 9 trillion yuan, decreasing by 2.3%.In August, foreign trade was 2.9 trillion yuan, up 6 percent, with exports 1.7 trillion yuan, up 11.6 percent, and imports 1.2 trillion yuan, down 0.5 percent.

From April to August, textile and garment exports increased for five consecutive months.With the gradual easing of the global epidemic and the decline in the demand for epidemic prevention materials, the growth rate of textile exports in August slowed down compared with the previous period.The demand for clothing in major markets picked up, and clothing exports rebounded, growing by 5.2% year on year and 4.7% month-on-month.

Textile and apparel export is calculated in RMB: from January to August of 2020, the total textile and apparel export is 1,318.88 billion yuan, with an increase of 11.6%, among which the textile export is 737.55 billion yuan, with an increase of 37.8%, and the garment export is 581.33 billion yuan, with a decrease of 10.2%.

In August, textile and garment exports reached 216.96 billion yuan, up 22.6%, of which textile exports reached 103.23 billion yuan, up 49.7%, and apparel exports reached 1113.73 billion yuan, up 5.2%.

From January to August in 2020, textile and garment exports totaled us $187.41 billion, up 8.1% (national goods trade exports declined 2.3%), among which textile exports reached US $104.8 billion, up 33.4%, and apparel exports reached US $82.61 billion, down 12.9%.

In August, textile and garment exports reached US $30.93 billion, up 23.2 percent (the national export of goods increased by 9.5 percent), of which textile exports reached US $14.72 billion, up 48.5 percent, and clothing exports reached US $16.21 billion, up 6.6 percent.
