China's General Administration of Customs released the national trade data of goods from January to August 2020 on September 7.From January to August, the total value of the import and export of goods was 20 trillion yuan, decreasing by 0.6% compared with the same period last year (the same below), among which the export was 11 trillion yuan, up by 0.8%, and the import was 9 trillion yuan, decreasing by 2.3%.In August, foreign trade was 2.9 trillion yuan, up 6 percent, with exports 1.7 trillion yuan, up 11.6 percent, and imports 1.2 trillion yuan, down 0.5 percent.
From April to August, textile and garment exports increased for five consecutive months.With the gradual easing of the global epidemic and the decline in the demand for epidemic prevention materials, the growth rate of textile exports in August slowed down compared with the previous period.The demand for clothing in major markets picked up, and clothing exports rebounded, growing by 5.2% year on year and 4.7% month-on-month.
